Fall Youth League (FYL) Grades K-5

The Fall Youth League (FYL) offers two youth programs - 'Little Spikers' for grades K & 1 and the 'Elements' for grades 2-5. Both programs begin after Labor Day.
Registration will be available July - August 2012 and must be completed online at this website. Prior to registration, please read the Parent Athlete Concussion Information. During the registration process, you will acknowledge receipt of this information and be prompted for a Photo Release authorization. Please register for the grade you will enter for the upcoming 2012/13 school year. We accept online payments by Visa or Mastercard. You may mail a payment by check however it must be received prior to the first day of league. Our mailing address is Elk River Youth Volleyball, PO Box 924, Elk River MN 55330.
All players should wear comfortable athletic clothing and shoes that allow movement such as shorts, a T-shirt, and tennis shoes that tie. Please do NOT wear shorts with zippers, spaghetti strap shirts, sandals, flip-flops, or slip-on shoes. Please wear hair pulled back and bring a water bottle with your name clearly labeled. Lil Spikers (grades K - 1)
Our Lil' Spikers program introduces young kids to the exciting sport of volleyball! We use specialized equipment, carefully designed activities, and a low child/coach ratio to maximize success. Head coach, Katie Johnson, along with assistant coaches (older players in our middle school and high school programs) lead this program.
- 3 sessions from 6:00-6:45 pm on Mondays at Salk Middle School (09/10, 09/17, 09/24/12 subject to change)
- Program T-shirt and end of season gift
- Free admission to Youth Night on Tuesday, September x at ERHS
- Riding/Walking in the ERHS Homecoming Parade on Friday, September x
- Cost $40
Elements (grades 2 - 5)
Our Elements program introduces kids to the sport of power volleyball in a fun, yet challenging program. Teams are arranged according to grade level and school. Program Director, Tara Olsen, will demonstrate drills to the group followed by team drills led by parent volunteers. Drill games will be used to teach passing, setting, spiking, and serving. Mini-games may be used to teach court positioning, rotation, and scoring.
- 8 sessions
- Grades 2-3 - 75 minute time blocks from 6:00pm to 7:30pm on Tuesday and/or Thursday nights at Salk Middle School depending on gym availability
- Grades 4-5 - 90 minute time blocks from 7:30pm to 9:00pm on Tuesday and/or Thursday nights at Salk Middle School depending on gym availability
- Program T-shirt and end of season gift
- Free admission to Youth Night on Tuesday, September x at ERHS
- Riding/Walking in the ERHS Homecoming Parade on Friday, September x
- Tuesday Night Competition Night(s) with Rogers Youth League in late October
