Elk River Youth Volleyball (ERYV) is a non-profit organization.  Our mission is to provide the youth of Elk River an opportunity to participate in a variety of developmental and competitive volleyball programs. We train the young athletes in the community of Elk River for success in the sport of volleyball.

Winning Is Not Everything....

Winning and losing apply to outcomes in a competition; success and failure do not.

Program Overview

House, grade K-1:

Our House K-1 Program introduces young kids to the exciting sport of volleyball. This program is in the Fall.  We use specialized equipment, carefully designed activities, and a low child/coach ratio to maximize success. This is open to girls and boys.  Practices are typically 50 minutes and the season lasts 4 weeks.

House, grade 2-5:

Our House2-5 Program introduces our young athletes to the sport of volleyball in an encouraging and fun format.  This program is in the Fall.  The season will be structured to introduce and reinforce individual and team skills to prepare our players for competition. Teams will be arranged according to grade level and schools (2nd/3rd grade teams and/or 4th/5th grade teams).  Practices are typically 50 minutes and the season lasts 4 weeks.

Competitive, grade 6-8:

Our Competitive Program is for Middle School athletes (grade 6-8; and 5th graders who would like to tryout) who have some experience playing volleyball.  This program is in the Fall. It is more of a commitment with practices and games.  The players will be taught rotations and other volleyball skills to prepare them for High School Volleyball.  This program will have a tryout which usually takes place in later August each year.  Attendance is required at tryouts.  Practices are 1.5 hours long and this program runs for 6-7 weeks.

Junior Olympic (JO) Volleyball:

Junior Olympic (JO) Volleyball offers athletes the opportunity to participate against various schools/clubs. This program usually runs from January-March.  JO Volleyball is an avenue for girls (grade 2-12) and boys (grade 2-6) to play in competitive tournaments and get advanced training.  YDT is for grade 2-5.  Practices: JO grade 6-12 - (2) 2 hour practices per week.  YDT grade 2-5 - (1) 2 hour practice per week.  All games/competitions/play dates are played during the weekend.

Summer Camps grade K - 8:

Campers can expect to develop individual and team skills, learn the fundamentals of competition and have lots of fun!  Our camps will be tailored to the experience and ability level of each age group - beginners and experienced players are welcome.  All campers receive a camp t-shirt.
