Elk River Youth Volleyball (ERYV) is a non-profit organization. Our mission is to provide the youth of Elk River an opportunity to participate in a variety of developmental and competitive volleyball programs. We train the young athletes in the community of Elk River for success in the sport of volleyball.
Winning and losing apply to outcomes in a competition; success and failure do not.

Core Foundations Program K-1st grade (formerly known as Lil Spikers):
Our Core Foundations Program introduces young kids to the exciting sport of volleyball. This program is in the Fall. We use specialized equipment, carefully designed activities, and a low child/coach ratio to maximize success. This is open to girls and boys. Practices are usually on Monday for 55 minutes and the season lasts 4 weeks.
Core Elements Program 2nd - 5th grade (formerly known as Elements):
Our Core Elements Program introduces our young athletes to the sport of volleyball in an encouraging and fun format. This program is in the Fall. The season will be structured to introduce and reinforce individual and team skills to prepare our players for competition. Teams will be arranged according to grade level and schools (2nd/3rd grade teams and/or 4th/5th grade teams). Practices are usually on Monday for 75 minutes and the season lasts 4 weeks.
Core Program 6th - 8th Grade (formerly known as House):
Our Core Program introduces our Middle School athletes (6th - 8th grade) to the sport of volleyball in an encouraging and fun format. This program is in the Fall. The season will be structured to introduce and reinforce individual and team skills to prepare our players for competition. Practices are 1.5 hours long and this program runs for 6-7 weeks. This used to be known as our House League.
Competitive Program 6th - 8th Grade(formerly known as Travel):
Our Competitive Program is for Middle School athletes (6th-8th grade) who have some experience playing volleyball. This program is in the Fall. It is more of a commitment with practices and games. The girls will be taught rotations and other volleyball skills to prepare them for High School Volleyball. This program will have a tryout which usually takes place in later August each year. Attendance is required at tryouts. Practices are 1.5 hours long and this program runs for 6-7 weeks. This used to be known as our Travel League.
Junior Olympic (JO) Volleyball:
Junior Olympic (JO) Volleyball offers athletes the opportunity to participate against various schools/clubs. This program usually runs from December-March. JO Volleyball is an avenue for girls (age 8-18) and boys (age 8-11) to play in competitive tournaments and get advanced training. Practices: (2) 2 hour practices per week. All games are played during the weekend.
Summer Camps K - 8th Grade:
Erika Kelly, head coach at Spectrum High School, along with a coaching staff of qualified coaches and high school players lead our volleyball training camps. Campers can expect to develop individual and team skills, learn the fundamentals of competition and have lots of fun! Our camps will be tailored to the experience and ability level of each age group - beginners and experienced players are welcome. All campers receive a camp t-shirt.
